So I have known of this organization for some time now, but have never actually gone as far as signing up for an event and checking it out. One Brick is a non-profit organization that supports other local non-profits by bringing together volunteers, and creating a social event out of it. Based out of San Francisco, One Brick has also expanded to New York, Chicago, Wash D.C., and more cities to come. Their dedicated volunteers have put in many hours helping over 500 organizations working for the benefit of communities around them.

Recently I attended a happy hour event in San Jose for current and future volunteers, and after meeting many of these dedicated volunteers, I went right home to sign up for my first event. I will be volunteering at the San Jose Jazz Festival coming up on Aug. 11th and 12th. Some other events that sound interesting are RAFT: Sorting for Schools as well as Bring Me A Book, both helping schools and the education of our youth. I look forward to giving back to the community and getting involved with the great organizations that One Brick supports. Hopefully I can inspire others to join me and do the same.
