I’ve discovered a new show. I mean I knew it existed, and had even watched a clip once, but I’ve just now begun to watch. With the second season just starting, the show is Mad Men, on AMC, and I’m an entire season behind. I’ve downloaded the entire first season, and after watching the first few episodes, I can tell I’m hooked.

The show is about Madison Avenue advertising, set in 1960s New York. We follow the life of a high-level executive, Don Draper, and his relationships in and out of the office. Also, there is a great deal of focus on the roles of men and women at the time, in particular with the dynamics of sexuality in the workplace. It’s an award winning drama, with the highest ratings among the highest of any AMC show in history.

That’s pretty much it for now, but I’ll write a more comprehensive post once I’ve completed the first season. Stay tuned…
