Hulu, LLCImage via Wikipedia

Now I know Hulu has been out of private beta for a while now, and I myself have been using the site well before it was public. I am just now getting around to writing about it however, and if you’re looking for a place to catch up on some of the most popular shows of past and present, or to watch one of many full-length films, then hulu.com is the place to go. With a mixture of full episodes and clips from a variety of what’s out there on television, Hulu is a great place when your just looking for something to watch. A great number of networks provide content to Hulu, with NBC, Fox and Bravo being some of the more popular ones. The selection can sometimes be annoying though, especially when you see that your favorite show is there, only to find that they only have clips, certain seasons are lacking, or that new episodes are not included. Some full-length films are also included, but never anything too current.

One should not see this site as a replacement for cable television, but rather as a way to compliment it by offering a selection of shows from the past and present, or giving you something to watch during a slow day at the office. I personally don’t subscribe to cable, and I have an Apple mac mini connected to my television, so I sometimes use Hulu as a means to catch some shows they have. For me, I suppose it does the trick, and in combination with downloading some shows, I have everything I want to watch covered. They did just recently release a widget to be embedded on a variety of sites, or within one’s own site. I’ve added one to my site, and I hope you’ll check it out to take a look at Hulu for yourself.

With internet streaming becoming an ever increasing means of watching media, I think Hulu is going to be around for a while, and I’m looking forward to see what the future holds for them.
